Department of Homeland Security Council Meeting Update

Washington DC 5/20/2021 - Today United Federation LEOS-PBA Organizing director Steve Maritas who sits on the Department of Homeland Security Council attended our monthly Department of Homeland Security Council Meeting. Todays discussions focused on the CDC new guidelines on COVID-19 and how this will effect our many members working the frontlines at various federal buildings we represent throughout the country. The Department of Homeland Security Council members all agreed that everyone should be vaccinated and we should follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the further spreading of this deadly disease.

We are also happy to report that the Paragon System Inc officers in Los Angeles just received the first installment of the Cares Act money. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as the CARES Act, is a $2.2 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by the 116th U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump on March 27, 2020, in response to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. We expect the Cares Act money will soon be released to other Paragon System Inc officers in San Diego California, New York, Kentucky, North Carolina, the Washington DC Capitol region as well as other states from around the country. As this Cares Act money gets released we will keep our members informed.
