97 Shands Jacksonville Medical Center Security Officers VOTE LEOSU YES
Thursday October 22, 2020. Jacksonville Florida - Today the National Labor Relations Board NLRB had concluded it's mail ballot election to decide if the 97 security officers working for Shands Jacksonville Medical Center at its locations wished to be represented by the Law Enforcement Officers Security Unions LEOSU for the purposes of collective bargaining. In the end the 97 security officers working for Shands Jacksonville Medical Center had their voices heard loud and clear when they voted by a score of over 2 to 1 in favor of LEOSU representation.
During this particular campaign the Employer had hired a UNION-BUSTING firm who attempted to pursued the said security officers from voting YES for LEOSU Unionization. During the time leading up to this mail ballot election Shands Jacksonville Medical Center held daily mandatory UNION-BUSTING meetings and made the security officers sit through and watch ANTI-UNION videos.
In the end our Leadership committee stood strong and combated the personal attacks and misinformation being distributed by Shands Jacksonville Medical Center management and their UNION-BUSTING consultants. "Without our leadership desired commitment to make this happen the Employer and their Union-Busting consultants would of succeed". noted LEOSU Organizing Director Steve Maritas.
"Soldiers when in desperate straits lose the sense of fear. If there is no place of refuge, they will stand firm. If they are in hostile country, they will show a stubborn front. If there is no help for it, they will fight hard". Sun Tzu.
While our victory is at hand, we must now await our NLRB certification and thereafter begin the process of collective bargaining to improve wages, benefits and other conditions of employment. We wish to welcome the 97 Shands Jacksonville Medical Center security officers to our LEOSU Family. We promise "We will not let you down".
