This three (3) year agreement gives these officers a $1.75 per hour wage increase retroactively back to October 1st. Percentage wise this $1.75 per hour wage increase amounts to a 10% to 14% wage increase in the the first year of the contract alone. Additional increases amounting to $1.75 per hour will follow during the next two years of the contract in addition to job security and other benefits outlined in their new cba.
St, Joseph Medical Center security officer Herb Segarra who also took part in serving on the negotiating committee noted " in all the years he had served as an officer at St. Joseph's Medical Center he cannot recall a time where the hospital security officers received more than a 3% raise. As a matter of fact prior to voting in LEOSU this year our prior security union failed to even negotiate a wage increase for us in 2016". noted Segarra.
The LEOSU wishes to thank St. Joseph's Medical Center Hospital security officers Herb Segarra and Quentin Howard who served on the negotiating committee, as well as the entire St. Joseph's Medical Center Hospital security officers who put themselves on the line each and everyday. You now earned the RESPECT you all deserve.
