October 3, 2017 National Harbor MD - In a two day election 113 Marriott Security officers & Delta Safety Officers working at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center voted 43 to 8 to join the Law Enforcement Officers Security Unions LEOSU-DC. Previously these Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center officers were under contract with SEIU LOCAL 32 BJ who moved to intervene in this election however the National Labor Relations Board NLRB denied SEIU Local 32 BJ's request to intervene because they were a mixed guard union ineligible under Section 9(b)3 of the NLRA.
The Law Enforcement Officers Security Unions LEOSU-DC is becoming one of the fastest growing 9(b)3 security unions in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area, specializing in the representation of special police officers, protective service officers, protective security officers, federal contract guards and security officers and guards working at federal facilities, embassies and hotels and convention centers.
We wish to welcome the 113 Marriott Security officers & Delta Safety Officers working at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center into the LEOSU-DC family. Once we are officially certified we will begin the process of collective bargaining to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. You will soon experience what other LEOSU-DC locals and members have experienced when switching from their union to LEOSU-DC. Accountability, high quality negotiating skills, quick response to your calls and grievance, servicing of our members, and the enforcement of your new LEOSU-DC written collective bargaining agreement.
