Jon Bon Jovi and Labor Leaders from Across NY Join Governor Cuomo's Fight for Fair Pay

Rally Held at Headquarters of New York Hotel & Motel Trades Council as Wage Board is Scheduled to Hold Third Meeting on Minimum Wage for Fast Food Workers

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that Jon Bon Jovi and labor leaders from across New York have joined the Fight for Fair Pay campaign, which is supporting the Governor’s push to raise the minimum wage. In May, Governor Cuomo instructed the State Department of Labor to launch a Wage Board to investigate and make recommendations on an increase in the minimum wage in the fast food industry. The Wage Board is expected to make recommendations for a possible increase by July; those recommendations do not require legislative approval in order to become enacted.
